BJP leader Giriraj Singh's remarks anti-constitutional: NCP
The NCP leader said that the statement is not only mischievous, notorious but tends to create disharmony and cause unrest in the country.

Mumbai: The NCP on Sunday condemned as "anti-constitutional" Bihar BJP leader Giriraj Singh's 'back Narendra Modi or go to Pakistan' remark.

"This statement violates the poll code, Indian Penal Code and Constitution," Majeed Memon, Rajya Sabha member and NCP Secretary, said.

"It is not only mischievous, notorious but tends to create disharmony and cause unrest in the country.

"The statement is not only violative of election code of conduct but also attracts serious criminal offences under the Indian Penal Code and is contrary to the Constitution.

"In view of the fact that such a dangerous statement is carried on the front pages of leading newspapers, it has become necessary for the Election Commission to act forthwith and cancel Giriraj's candidature.

"At the same time it has become inescapable duty of both BJP chief Rajnath Singh and their prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to publicly condemn the statement, disown the same loudly and issue public apology," he said.
