New Delhi: Cutting across party lines, senior leaders have hit back at the Aam Aadmi Party's statement, among others, accusing its founding members of working towards party's defeat in the recently-held Delhi Assembly elections.
Senior AAP leader Prashant Bhushan, who was removed along with another senior leader Yogendra Yadav from the party's highest decision-making body Political Affairs committee (PAC) on March 4, said in his defence that it is time to reveal the truth and he will continue his struggle. "I will continue to fight, we have not made a party which is a machine to just fight the elections," he said.
"I think the time has come to know about the whole thing in front of the country," Bhushan added.
Targeting AAP, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said, "It would require more than naturopathy for AAP to improve their digestion with regard to power."
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shazia Ilmi, who quit the AAP just before the Assembly elections, accused Kejriwal of being a conspirator. She said, "Kejriwal has left Lalu and Mulayam behind in doing conspiracy. It's just he has good image in public. Nobody will believe on AAP's statement that Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav were pushing for AAP's poll debacle in Delhi."
BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said, "AAP should answer the allegation leveled by senior leaders on internal democracy inside party."
AAP on Tuesday accused senior leaders Yadav, Prashant Bhushan and Shanti Bhushan of working towards party's defeat in the recent Delhi Assembly elections.
"Prashant Bhushan and Shanti Bhushan supported the claims made by AVAM against AAP. Yogendra Yadav was planting stories against Kejriwal and AAP in national dailies, was speaking against party off the record to journalists," AAP said.
"We have decided to expose Yadav and Bhushan to the entire world," the statement said.
