Jhansi: The police on Wednesday filed an FIR against unknown people in the poll violence that led to death of seven-year-old Daan-e-alam. The FIR was registered by the police on the complaint made by mediapersons in Jhansi.
The police said the Samjawadi Party workers went on a rampage after the supporters of one of the candidates raised doubts about the counting that was on.
Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday had promised strict action against party workers who went on a rampage as celebrations went out of hand.
"I will take action against those who were involved in the violence," Akhilesh had said.
Another Samajwadi Party worker succumbed to death in Agra. The supporter was wounded in police firing following the rampage on Tuesday by SP workers demanding that their candidate be declared victorious.
He was admitted in a Agra hospital, succumbed to his injuries while he was being moved to Delhi.
