Rishabh Pant is nearing full fitness and will soon be back on the field to lead the Delhi Capitals in the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The wicketkeeper-batter has resumed training and keeps his fans posted about his recovery via social media. His latest Instagram post speaks volumes about his fitness levels as he could be seen squatting without any discomfort to play a game of marbles with a bunch of kids.
Pant had a fun session with some little boys who probably did not recognise the Indian cricketer who had put on a mask on his face. He kept chatting with the kids while showcasing his marble game.

Earlier this month Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal had revealed that Pant will be fully fit for the upcoming IPL season and will lead the franchise. However, for the first seven matches, he will play purely as a batter.
“Rishabh is batting. He’s running. He has started his wicketkeeping. He is likely to be fully fit for the IPL. I am expecting Rishabh to play IPL and he will lead from match one. First seven games we are going to play him only as a batter and depending on how his body reacts, we will take a call for the rest of the IPL,” Jindal told ESPNcricinfo.
Meanwhile, DC team director Sourav Ganguly said the franchise will not rush Rishabh Pant, who is on his comeback trail after he was injured in a horrific car accident in December 2022.
“He has done everything to get fit and that’s the reason NCA will clear him. Let Rishabh get cleared on Mar 5 only then we’ll talk about captaincy backups. We are taking a cautious approach with him because he has a very long career ahead of him. We don’t want to push him in excitement. We will see how Rishabh reacts. He will be joining the camp once NCA gives him the clearance. We will see match by match. We can’t predict,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by TOI.
Pant crashed his car in December 2022 and suffered horrific injuries that needed surgeries. The unfortunate incident meant he missed a host of major tournaments including the IPL and, the final of the World Test Championship. 2023 ODI World Cup among others.
