However, she was best known for the time she offered to strip if India lifted the World Cup trophy in 2011. With the tournament taking place in India, Poonam had promised in a video message ahead of the 2011 Cricket World Cup final that she would strip if India won the final match. With her audacious claim, she shot to fame.
Poonam Pandey had a sizable social media following and she often shared glimpses of her personal life and greeted fans with stunning pictures of herself.

The news of her death was first revealed in a post shared on her official Instagram handle. “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared,” the post read.
Her team then confirmed the News18. “She passed away last night,” her team said. In a statement to the press, her manager Nikita Sharma said, “Poonam Pandey was not only a luminary in the film industry, but she was also a beacon of strength and resilience. Her unwavering spirit amidst her health struggles was truly remarkable.”
Poonam was last seen in the first season of Lock Upp hosted by Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. Though she did not win the show, she did expand her fan base. The first season of Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp was won by comedian Munawar Faruqui.
