Apple has introduced its new iPhone 15 series with a USB-C port, replacing the Lightning port for the first time. The USB-C port on the iPhone 15 offers several benefits, including charging options. Now, it is possible to use an iPhone 15 to charge AirPods or an Apple Watch directly.
All you need is an appropriate cable, such as a USB-C to USB-C cable for the new AirPods Pro 2 USB-C Charging Case or a USB-C Apple Watch charging puck. Apple showcased this new feature during the iPhone 15 Pro announcement.
If your AirPods or Apple Watch runs out of battery when you don’t have a charger, it is handy to use the iPhone’s battery for a quick recharge instead of carrying an extra battery pack.
According to MacRumors, USB-C offers added convenience, allowing you to utilise a single charging cable for Macs, iPads, iPhones, and various other USB-C accessories.
On iPhone 15 Pro models, USB-C also brings faster USB 3 transfer speeds of up to 10Gb/s, reaching up to 10Gb/s, as long as you use the appropriate cable. In contrast, iPhone 15 models are limited to USB 2 charging speeds, which are the same as those of the Lightning port.
In India, the iPhone 15 series starts at Rs 79,900 in the country, while the iPhone 15 Pro starting price is Rs 1,34,900 for buyers this year. The company is also making the new iPhone 15 models available from September 22.
Apple iPhone 15 is available in three storage variants: 128GB for Rs 79,900, and 256GB and comes in Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green, and Black colour options. For the iPhone 15 Plus, there are also three storage options — 128GB at Rs 89,900, 256GB at Rs 99,900, and 512GB at Rs 1,19,900. Like the standard iPhone 15, it is offered in Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green, and Black.
The iPhone 15 Pro, on the other hand, offers four storage configurations. Lastly, iPhone 15 Pro Max, comes in three storage options: 256GB for Rs 1,59,900, 512GB for Rs 1,79,900, and the high-end 1TB version for Rs 1,99,900.
