Multiple reports on Tuesday suggested that the Opposition INDIA bloc meeting, slated to be held on December 6, has been postponed after top leaders decided to skip. However, a Congress leader said that meeting will take place as planned, at 6pm at party president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence.
“Thereafter, the meeting of party presidents/ heads of the INDIA alliance will be scheduled in third week of December at a date convenient to all,” Congress leader Gurdeep Singh Sappal posted on X.
Sources had told News18 on Monday that the meeting will be deferred “in all likelihood” due to unavailability of leaders, including MK Stalin, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav.
On Tuesday, Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren also annouced to give the meeting a miss. “I will be busy in Giridih. I spoke to Kharge ji yesterday. Maybe, a representative from our side will go,” he said.
