Team India pulled off a remarkable 228-run win over arch-rivals Pakistan on Monday in the Super 4 encounter between the teams on Monday.

India set the neighbours a target of 357 to win and bowled out the Babar Azam-led team for a paltry 128 runs, thereby claiming a thumping win.

The victory sparked wild celebrations in every part of the cricket-crazed nation as fans rejoiced and marked the occasion with joy.

Fans in Jammu took to the streets to express their joy following the massive win.

Ardent followers of the game in Nagpur, brought out the fireworks as they danced in celebration of the iconic triumph.

The win sent every Indian into a frenzy as they commemorated the triumph over the arch-rivals with some wild scenes on the streets of the country.

The win was also India’s biggest ODI win over the neighbouring nation, which added to the taste of victory.

India were put to bat first by Pakistan, who won the toss and started off on a high as the opening pair Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill took the Pakistani bowling head on as they notched up a half-century each with the skipper scoring 56 runs,  before being scalped by Shadab Khan, while Gill added 58 before he fell prey to Shaheen Shah Afridi.

However, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul schooled the Pakistani bowling unit as they both reached the century mark with the former captain Kohli making an unbeaten 122 runs off 94 deliveries and Rahul adding 111 off just 106 without losing his wicket.

The India bowling unit followed up the game with ferocity as Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj troubled the Pakistani top order.

Lead spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the wrecker-in-chief as he registered a 5-wicket haul, while Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur, and Bumrah picked a wicket each in the monumental win.
