India were put to bat first by Pakistan, who won the toss and started off on a high as the opening pair Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill took the Pakistani bowling head on as they notched up a half-century each with the skipper scoring 56 runs, before being scalped by Shadab Khan, while Gill added 58 before he fell prey to Shaheen Shah Afridi.
However, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul schooled the Pakistani bowling unit as they both reached the century mark with the former captain Kohli making an unbeaten 122 runs off 94 deliveries and Rahul adding 111 off just 106 without losing his wicket.
The India bowling unit followed up the game with ferocity as Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj troubled the Pakistani top order.
Lead spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the wrecker-in-chief as he registered a 5-wicket haul, while Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur, and Bumrah picked a wicket each in the monumental win.
