Katrina Kaif is known for straight-talking, even with someone like Shah Rukh Khan. A now-viral video from their promotion of “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” shows a moment where Shah Rukh was taken aback by Katrina’s response when asked about her experience working with him.
This happened in 2012 while promoting “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. When asked about working with Shah Rukh, Katrina replied, “Let’s be fair, Shah Rukh used one word to describe me – ‘gentle,’ which had absolutely no relation to acting, talent, looks or my career. He used 25 (words) to describe Anushka, so…how was the experience? It was…umm…good!”
When Shah Rukh prodded her on to say a little more about him, an upset Katrina said, “But you seriously disappointed me… gentle? I mean that’s like one step below hardworking. Hardworking is generic it does not speak about exactly what you do and gentle… is what?”
Shah Rukh appeared genuinely taken aback by this response and attempted to salvage the situation by offering a more thoughtful answer. But, Katrina wasn’t willing to let it slide and interrupted him as he tried to put together another reply. Despite the interruption, Shah Rukh eventually said that working with her was one of the most wonderful experiences in his two-decade-long career.
Only recently, during an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, when asked about being labeled as ‘hardworking’, the actress threw a question to the women in the audience, urging them to describe themselves with adjectives. She then hesitantly accepted the label “hardworking” for herself, acknowledging that she is grateful for what she receives.
Katrina is all set to star in Merry Christmas. The film also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, Tinnu Anand, Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, Rajesh Williams, and Pari.
