Soundarya Sharma Opens Up On Trolling For Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar Tobacco Ad: 'I Am Very Upright As A...'
Soundarya Sharma got candid about dealing with trolls after her tobacco commercial with Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar.

Soundarya Sharma rose to fame after her stint in Bigg Boss 16. Her recent appearance in a mouth freshener advertisement, Vimal, with Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar sparked significant media attention. In a conversation with a prominent media outlet, Soundarya shared her perspective on the controversy and opened up about the trolling that she received for opting for a tobacco commercial.

As quoted by Mid-Day, Soundarya Sharma stated, “The advertisement was a big opportunity for me and I think for any actor to share the screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar in the same project would be a huge and unprecedented space and deal. In my professional capacity, as an actor, given an opportunity like this, I will certainly pick it up. It doesn’t necessarily have to be my personal choice. I am very upright as a person, a dentist, and an individual. Neither I support nor endorse any wrong aspect/ consumption of any product or brand. Having said that, my personal opinion may vary from my career choices.”

She added, “I had auditioned for this and got selected out of 500+ girls and that’s how I exclusively did this brand. I’m not silly to say no to such a big opportunity when I know this will make me the first ever to share screen space with SRK, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn in the same project. The little girl in me just got too excited and this opportunity was overwhelming for me and my career as an actor! I also feel people are very much aware of the pros and cons of anything they consume and have been doing it so don’t know how far we can restrict people to make their own choices.”

Soundarya Sharma made her acting debut in 2017 with the romantic film Ranchi Diaries and won the ‘Best Debutante’ award at the Jharkhand International Film Festival. She also received a Zee Cine Awards nomination. In 2022, she participated in the popular Colors TV reality show, Bigg Boss 16, and was also featured in a Times Music exclusive release titled Garmi Mein Chill.

On the professional front, Soundarya Sharma was last seen in Altamash Faridi’s music video Bade Din Se alongside Sameer Mark. Now, she is all set to grace the screen in Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming comedy-drama, Housefull 5. The actress will make a cameo appearance in the star-studded film, which includes Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt, John Abraham, Dharmendra, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Kharbanda, and many others.
