Abhishek Bachchan is super proud of his ‘bhanja’ Agastya Nanda. Soon after the release of The Archies trailer on Thursday, the Ghoomer actor took to his Instagram handle and penned down a heartwarming note. He called the trailer ‘so cool’ and expressed excitement for the Zoya Akhtar directorial. Abhishek also welcomed Agastya and other The Archies kids to the movies.

“This is just so cool! Can’t wait to see it. Agastya, I’m so, so proud of you. From jumping on my bed as a kid playing the air guitar to jumping out of the screen with a real one….. the journey has just begun. Play hard! Zo, you’ve knocked it out of the park again! And to the rest of the kids and the crew, all the very best. Very exciting. Welcome to the movies!” he wrote. Check out the post here:

Several fans reacted to Abhishek’s post and shared that the trailer looks ‘very promising’. “All newcomers seem promising and eager to watch movie all the best,” one of the fans wrote. “My teenage n youth was all about asking the lending library ” bhaiya latest Archies aayi kya ?” So I am going to scrutinize for the details looking forward,” another comment read.

The Archies marks Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan and Kushi Kapoor’s Bollywood debut. The Indian adaptation of the beloved comics will see Dot play Ethel Muggs, Agastya as the charming and talented Archie Andrews, Khushi will take on the role of Betty Cooper, Mihir Ahuja as the always hungry Jughead Jones, Veronica Lodge will be portrayed by Suhana Khan, Heartthrob Reggie Mantle will be showcased by Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda will play Dilton Doiley.

Talking about the project, Zoya Akhtar earlier shared, “I am super excited to have the chance to bring The Archies to life. It was a large part of my childhood and teenage years. The characters are iconic and globally loved, which is also why I am a little nervous.”

The Archies will be released on Netflix on December 7.
