Mumbai Police always maintains an entertaining online presence, ensuring their social media account remains as vibrant as their presence on the streets. This was once again evident when they decided to address a playful complaint from a user on the micro-blogging platform ‘X,’ previously known as Twitter. It became abundantly clear that the person behind their account is a dedicated Bollywood fan who sprinkles humour on everything they touch.
It all began when a user, Vedhika Arya, shared a post and tagged Mumbai Police, saying, “Police station ja rahi hun sukoon kho gaya hai mera” (I’m going to the police station; I’ve lost my peace). Mumbai Police’s response was laced with puns and humour, “Many of us are in ‘talaash’ of ‘sukoon’ too Ms Arya! We appreciate your ‘aitbaar’ in us and are sure that you will find it in your ‘rooh’ – for anything else tangible, you may ‘beshaq’ come to us #EnsuringSukoonForMumbai #MumbaiFirst,” cleverly referencing Bollywood movies.

This post quickly gained public attention, evoking reactions. “My gosh. What you official’s have to go through every day is unbelievable,” one user remarked. Another said, “Poetic phrases can make simple tweets like “Shayarri” making us go “wah wah, wah wah”. Way 2 go!” A third praised, “Admin of this page is lit,” praised the third one.
And just when we thought Mumbai Police couldn’t get any wittier, another incident comes to mind. This incident involved a delivery from Subway placed by a user’s roommate at around 2:30 a.m.

During the delivery process, the customer received an unexpected message from the delivery agent, who offered additional items, including cigarettes and ganja. Responding to this post, Mumbai Police wrote, “Ma’am, we really need what he’s got. WE’ED be happy to get in touch with your roommate’s delivery partner, for his benevolence.”
