Karan Johar Makes SHOCKING Confession About Bhansali, ‘He’s Never Called Me After Any Film But…’
In a recent conversation, Karan Johar opened up about the Devdas director never calling him after any movie release.

Karan Johar is riding high on the success of his recently released film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film, which stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, has received a lot of love from all genres. Even it was ruling the box office. Post the success, Karan received congratulatory messages from everyone but there was one person who did not call him up. Well, in a recent interview, Karan Johar opened up about the same and said that the Devdas director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has never called him up despite having called him several times.

Internationally acclaimed American designer Prabal Gurung asked Karan if he got a call from Sanjay Leela Bhansali after the film. “He’s actually never called me after any film. But I have called him several times,” Karan was quoted saying. He then confessed that filmmakers ‘very rarely’ call him. “This film.. particularly, I got a lot of calls, and I was very grateful,” Karan added.

Karan returned direction after seven years. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. The romantic drama performed very well at the box office and was loved by fans.

Talking about Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Karan Johar, in a recent interview with Mid Day, dropped a bombshell. He hinted that he may have drawn subconscious inspiration from a prominent Bollywood power couple for the narrative. Any guesses? It was Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna.

“Maybe subconsciously (I got inspired). They have a tremendous friendship in their marriage. I’ve had dinners with them, meals with them, hung out with them. And there’s a terrific kind of comfort in their camaraderie. He finds her hilarious, she finds him hilarious, for different reasons. So I felt it wasn’t impossible for people who come from two different demographics of society, two stratas, to actually find love. It’s like we put ourselves in boxes. Like when we’re finding a relationship, we put ourselves in places where we’re comfortable. But tomorrow, you can fall in love with someone anywhere,” Karan said while speaking to Mid-Day.

In the film, Rocky Randhawa (played by Ranveer Singh) and Rani Chatterjee (played by Alia Bhatt) fall in love despite their different backgrounds. To win their families’ approval, they swap homes for three months to test their bond. The movie was released on July 28.
