Here are the excerpts:

Describe your journey of creating your upcoming studio album Rewind + Repeat. And just like She Knows with Akon, will there be other collaborations one should be looking forward to?

Dimitri: The album has been a long time coming. We actually had an album project in the pipeline a few years back, but decided to shift our focus to doing just singles instead back then, because the landscape was different, plus we were touring in a way that singles felt a better fit. But albums are connecting more with dance fans again, and we’ve have always wanted to put out a debut album – but at the right time – so now feels like that moment.

Sunburn Festival is known for its vibrant and energetic atmosphere. What makes performing at Sunburn unique compared to other festivals around the world?

Dimitri: The energy of the Sunburn crowd is hard to beat. The fans there are so enthusiastic about the music and of course the setting of the festival always makes it a very special place to play. Over the years we’ve had some incredible parties on the Sunburn mainstage!

You’ve had the opportunity to perform at multiple editions of Sunburn Festival. What keeps bringing you back, and how has the festival evolved over the years?

Dimitri: The vibe is a big part of why we always want to return! It’s a festival with its own identity, a wild crowd, and a huge production! We’ve been coming back for years and along the way there has been some amazing memorable moments, such as our 2017 NYE show, which was one of the craziest NYE events we’ve ever done!

Sunburn Festival often features a diverse lineup of artists and genres. How do you curate your setlist to cater to such a diverse audience while staying true to your signature sound?

Dimitri: Our sound has always been diverse. If you check out our sets from over the years, we’ve always had elements of big room, electro, trance, techno, progressive, and so much more – but as mentioned before, we are now really going back to our early up-tempo rave roots.

India has a rapidly growing EDM scene. What do you think sets Indian EDM fans apart from fans in other parts of the world?

Dimitri: The passion for EDM in the country is really inspiring. The scene in India is really exciting and it’s great to see more and more young artists trying to break through from the country. Every place has its own sound and as the talent continues to grow in the country this sound will reach more and more fans worldwide.

Your music has a global appeal, but do you incorporate any elements or tracks in your Sunburn sets that are specifically chosen for the Indian audience?

Dimitri: We’ve got a bunch of new IDs and edits for this tour, so fans can expect a lot of new material, and we will definitely have a lot of surprises in the show. So come check it out!

Collaborations are a big part of your music journey. Have you ever considered collaborating with Indian artists or incorporating Indian musical elements into your work?

Dimitri: We have nothing planned right now, but it would be cool to do something with Indian musicians and bring in that distinctive sound.

The visual and production aspects of your shows are always impressive. What can fans expect in terms of the visual experience at your Sunburn Festival performance?

Dimitri: It’s going to be another huge show with insane visuals and production. We want to make this year’s tour more memorable than the previous one, so we’re pulling out all the stops to go bigger and bolder.

As festival headliners, you’ve seen the EDM scene evolve. What trends or changes do you anticipate in the EDM world, especially in the context of festivals like Sunburn?

Dimitri: Right now we’re seeing advancements in tech like with Las Vegas’s Sphere and things like AI, 3D, Meta and augmented reality, so I think the visual experience of shows is going to explode into a whole new dimension which is hugely exciting for the dance scene and especially for big stages like festivals.

What advice would you give to aspiring DJs and producers in India who dream of performing at festivals like Sunburn one day?

Dimitri: Stay true to yourself and trust the process. It’s hard and it’s also a long road but you’ll thank yourself in the long term.

Can you share any exclusive news or surprises that fans can look forward to during your Sunburn Festival performance?

Dimitri: All will be revealed on the night!

Finally, what message or feeling do you hope to convey to the Sunburn audience through your music and performance this year?

Dimitri: Peace, love and unity on the dancefloor.

What's your reaction?
