1 – Captain Miller
Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the movie features Dhanush, Priyanka Mohan, Shivarajkumar, Nivedhithaa Sathish, Elango Kumaravel, John Kokken, Nassar and Edward Sonnenblick. Initially set for release on December 15, the release date was rescheduled to the Pongal festival in 2024. Meanwhile, its promotional content, from the first glimpse to the teaser and the debut single, has received positive responses from audiences.
2 – D50
After his directorial debut with Pa Paandi in 2017, Dhanush has stirred excitement with his second directorial project titled D50. Recently, the actor-filmmaker announced the completion of filming for the movie, setting the release date for December 21, 2024. Other than the concept poster and release date, no further details about the film have been disclosed,
3 – Lal Salaam
Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s film will feature legendary actor Rajinikanth in his charismatic personality. The film is rumoured to revolve around the themes of cricket and communism. Starring Vishnu Vishal in the lead role, the superstar is slated for an extended cameo appearance. Recently, a teaser featuring Rajini’s character was unveiled and it received an overwhelmingly positive response.
4 – Ayalaan
After a grand music launch event in Chennai, the makers of this sci-fi comedy are gearing up to launch the movie’s trailer in Dubai on January 7. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Rakul Preet Singh, Karunakaran, Yogi Babu, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, David Broughton-Davies and Banupriya. Interestingly, actor Sidharth has lent his voice to the Alien character in R Ravikumar’s directorial, which is set for a release on Sankranti, 2024.
5 – Aranmanai 4
The movie is set to grace screens during Pongal 2024 with Tamannaah and Raashii Khanna taking on lead roles. The film, directed by Sundar C, who has played a dual role as both actor and director in all franchise films, promises a thrilling installment. Joining the ensemble cast are Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh. Despite the varied response to the third part, the creators hold optimistic expectations for the audience’s reception of this fourth installment.
6 – Indian 2
Directed by Shankar, the movie will pick up the narrative 27 years after the original film, where Senapathy was revealed to be alive. Scheduled for an April 2024 release, apart from Kamal Haasan in the lead role, the cast also features Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Guru Somasundaram in pivotal roles.
