Among the three debutants, Shalini Passi seemingly managed to intrigue the audience the most, with her exquisite art collection, fashion game and sense of self. But who is Shalini Passi?

Who is Shalini Passi?

Born and raised in Delhi, Shalini Passi is a woman who wears many hats. She is an art collector and art connoisseur with a penchant for music, dance, archery, shooting, scuba diving and fashion. She used to be a state-level gymnast before she became a patron of the arts. Shalini also runs the My Art Shalini and Shalini Passi Art Foundation. Both avenues promote emerging artists in India.

In a recent chat with the Architectural Digest, Shalini opened up about being an artist. She said, “I’m an artist and always had an eye for art, for meaningful objects… I was and always will be obsessive; if I see something beautiful or interesting, I make a note of it, and I research it endlessly. I go to museums, scour antique shops, look at fabric, feel the textures of stone, and seek the provenance, and the beauty of an object. One should have an eye for refinement.”

Where Does Shalini Passi Live In Delhi?

This refinement is also reflected in her Golf Links home in Delhi. Shalini Passi made her home into a gallery of sorts, doubling down on her love for art. The boomerang-shaped house is adorned with new and old art pieces. Even the lush lawns on her property have art installations.

As per Architectural Digest, the property is a 20,000-square-foot residence, with 14 rooms. “People ask me what I like the most about this house, or which are my favourite works of art, and I always say it depends on the season and how I feel,” Shalini said.

Who Is Shalini Passi’s Husband, Sanjay Passi?

Shalini Passi is among India’s billionaires. She is married to Sanjay Passi, the chairman of Pasco Group. It is a prominent name in the Tata Motors-certified dealerships in North India. They also have a son, Robin Passi. In 1999, Sanjay was awarded the Aaykar Ratna Award for being the highest taxpayer in the country. While not much is known about Shalini’s wedding to Sanjay, their love for one another was evident during his few appearances on her debut show.

The show was released this Friday and has received mixed reviews. News18 Showsha gave the show 2.5/5 stars. Our review read, “Unlike the first two seasons of the show, which became a guilty pleasure with their humorous moments of delusion interspersed with relatability, the third season fails to deliver the same ‘masala’. What made the first two seasons work was the real-life camaraderie among the four Bollywood wives. However, the ‘Delhi girls’ do not match the hype because they are not close friends in reality, so there is no real tension.”

“The entire season feels like a rough draft of the actual show. There is no high-octane drama and even the mild interactions between the women feel scripted. Even Maheep Kapoor and Seema Sajdeh’s antics fail to save the show. The only factor even remotely interesting is Shalini Passi’s vague, confident demeanour and unattainable lifestyle. But it is impossible to make a successful show entirely on fringes. None of the women, old or new, leave any impact on the show,” the review also read.
