South filmmaker Harish Shankar is preparing for the release of his upcoming film, Mr Bachchan, a Ravi Teja-starrer. The director is now engaged in its promotions, detailing on the project and his future ventures. In a recent media interaction, he opened up about doing a film with some of the biggest members of the Mega family, and how it will be received by the audience. As per reports, Harish Shankar expressed his wish to make a film with the star members of the Konidela family, which includes top actors like megastar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan. The news has created a lot of excitement and anticipation among fans of the respective actors. According to Harish Shankar, he has been working on its story for years now.
During the promotions, he was asked if he ever planned to make pan-India films in the future. Harish Shankar stated, “Pan-India films should happen naturally. Just for the sake of doing a Pan-India film, I won’t do it.” Speaking further, the filmmaker revealed that he has written a love story set in the backdrop of the Indian-Pakistan border. He added, “If that is made into a film, it might appeal to a nationwide audience.”
Harish Shankar then mentioned working on a project around the actors of the Konidela family. Talking about the possibility of such a film, he said, “If that film materialises, it will be the biggest Pan-India film surpassing other movies.” According to him, such big scale films cannot be planned and should only “happen organically.” Mentioning blockbusters like Pushpa and Kantara, he said the films were not planned to be released as pan-India films. He says, “Through Kantara, makers told their regional story and the entire India accepted it. The Naatu Naatu song, which depicted our culture, won an Oscar.” He concluded by stating that he does not like to share details about his project before it goes on floors.
Mr Bachchan is set to release on August 15. It stars Ravi Teja and Bhagyashri Borse as the leads.
