Suresh Gopi is one of the renowned actors in Malayalam cinema and his son Gokul Suresh has followed in his footsteps. He has, however, not seen substantial success in the film industry. In an interview, Suresh Gopi talked about Gokul and his fondness for the 2001 film Randam Bhavam directed by Lal Jose.
The Thrissur Lok Sabha seat MP said that Gokul was 8 years old when this film was released in 2001. Randam Bhavam starred an ensemble cast of actors Biju Menon, Thilakan, Poornima Indrajith, Narendra Prasad and others. Suresh Gopi played a dual role in this film.
Gokul last acted in the film Oru Bharatha Sarkar Ulppannam. He doesn’t have a massive fan following to date but leaves no stone unturned for his performance. The 30-year-old actor got to play a cameo role in the film Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu written and directed by Arun Gopy. In an earlier interview with Onmanorama, Gokul admitted that his role isn’t a unique one. According to him, “I am not adamant that I would only play the lead roles. I have done a cameo in Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu. I have chosen the film because I thought that the role offered a scope for me to perform. Everyone would have a different stepping stone to the movies. It is the audience and the media that decide whether one should succeed in the industry or not. I have decided to head forward keeping that in mind.”
Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu, starring an ensemble cast of Pranav Mohanlal, Rachel David and others failed to perform at the box office. It evoked mixed reviews from the audience.
Gokul Suresh is now looking forward to the release of his next, titled Gaganachari. Going by the latest updates on the film, a release date has been finalised for the film. Dubbed a Malayalam dystopian comedy, this film is set for a theatrical release on June 21, 2024. The film has garnered considerable attention and anticipation among the cinephiles after its poster and trailer releases. Earlier this year, a screening of Gaganachari was held at the Kerala Pop Con.
