The trailer of Tom Cruise starrer The Mummy is out and it has nothing to do with the previous franchise. The trailer is full of mystery and lots of explosive action.
Directed by Alex Kurtzman and written by Jon Spaihts it is a reboot of The Mummy franchise and the first instalment in the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe which includes rebooted versions of films from the original series. The film stars Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe.
The trailer sees a coffin been carried in an aircraft when strange things start happening, killing almost everyone on board. Then Tom Cruise rises from the death bed and the curse begins. Unlike the previous versions, this reboot is riding high on patent Tom Cruise action and blasts.
The film is scheduled to be released on June 9, 2017.
