Suriya's Kanguva Postponed To Avoid Clash With Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan? What We Know
If the rumours are to be believed, the makers are now eyeing the date of October 31, the Diwali occasion.

Kanguva, one of the most highly-anticipated releases in the industry this year, may have postponed its release. Going by the rumours surrounding the project, the makers have decided the occasion of Diwali to be its new release date. Here is more on the reports.

The film is being led by Suriya and is reported to be one of the finest works of his career. Earlier, the film was scheduled to be released on October 10. If the rumours are to be believed, the makers are now eyeing the date of October 31, the Diwali occasion, for its release. As per more reports, the makers have postponed the date to avoid a clash with Vettaiyan, another big pan-India release, starring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan.

Industry insider AB George shared a tweet on X, sharing and detailing on the new information. He tweeted, “Due to distributors request #Suriya’s pan Indian movie #Kanguva postponed to Deepavali. October 31 release.”

With the original date of the release being October 10, Kanguva was supposed to be showcased as a special Ayudha Pooja release. It is one of the highest-budgeted films in Indian cinema, the reports further stated.

Kanguva is being helmed by Siva while the story is penned by Adhi Narayana. The film stars Suriya in the titular role along with an ensemble cast of Bobby Deol, who will be seen as the antagonist, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Baby, Redin Kingsley and many more. It is produced by K E Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banners of Studio Green and UV Creations. The makers have roped in Devi Sri Prasad for music. The cinematography is being done by Vetri Palanisamy and the editor is Nishadh Yusuf. Reportedly, the film is made between a budget of Rs 300 crore to Rs 350 crore.

On the other hand, Vettaiyan is being directed by T J Gnanavel and stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil in notable roles. It is produced under the Lyca Productions banner.
