Stree 2 Box Office Day 5: Film Earns Rs 228 Cr, BEATS Fighter as Highest Grossing Hindi Film of 2024

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor film Stree 2 has shattered yet another record. The film has emerged as the highest grossing Hindi film of 2024 with an estimated box office collection of Rs 228 Cr in just five days. Stree 2 beat Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter and Prabhas-Amitabh Bachchan’s Kalki 2898 AD to record the highest opening weekend this year with its extended weekend. Stree 2 has also already surpassed the lifetime collection of Fighter.

According to Sacnilk.com, the early estimates reveal Stree 2 collected Rs 37.00 Cr on Monday. This has pushed the Stree’s 2 box office collection to Rs 228.45 Cr. Bollywood Hungama reported Fighter had collected Rs 115.30 Cr in its opening weekend and ended its box office run at with a lifetime box office collection of Rs 199.45 Cr. Stree 2 also broke Kalki 2898 AD’s Hindi box office collection.

It is reported that the Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD had collected Rs 112.15 Cr in the opening weekend and ended its run with a lifetime collection of Rs 294.25 Cr in Hindi alone.

Stree 2 banked on two major holidays — Independence and Raksha Bandhan. On Independence Day, Stree 2 collected Rs 51.8 Cr whereas on Raksha Bandhan, owing to holidays in selected pockets of the country, the film earned Rs 37.00 Cr. The highest occupancies were recorded in Delhi-NCR, Lucknow, Bhopal, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.

Stree 2 is a sequel to the 2018 release, Stree. The first film collected a lifetime box office collection of Rs 129.90 Cr. The sequel brought back the OG cast from the first film — Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. However, it also added an interesting mix of actors in the form of cameos.

The Amar Kaushik directorial featured cameo by Varun Dhawan in his Bhediya avatar, Akshay Kumar as the possible new villain. The film also featured Tamannaah Bhatia as Pankaj Tripathi’s love interest.
