Hyderabad: The much-awaited multi-lingual film ‘Baahubali’ today hit the screens worldwide to a rousing response from the audience.
Touted as one of the most expensive films made in the country with a reported budget of about Rs 200 crore, the period action drama starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Ramya
Krishna, Anushka and Tamanna in lead roles released in 4,000 plus theatres worldwide.
Movie lovers thronged theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana when the screening of the film began this morning as the craze for the flick reached a crescendo in the run up to
its release.
Police had to intervene to control the frenzied crowds at theatres in some places of the two states. The advance booking of tickets for watching the film witnessed a scramble ahead of the release. The rush for online booking led to crashing of computer servers at some places and serpentine queues were seen at cinema halls and multiplexes.
'Baahubali' director S S Rajamouli and other members of the film unit visited a theatre in the city this morning. Rajamouli politely declined to speak to the media on
the occasion.
The film received appreciation from film industry veterans like Amitabh Bachchan.
