Sidharth Malhotra, the Bollywood actor, proudly exercised his voting rights in the penultimate phase of the Lok Sabha elections in New Delhi on May 25. He shared a photo on social media showing his inked finger, symbolizing his participation in the democratic process.
Dressed in a white shirt, like most of the Bollywood stars that voted in Mumbai, Sidharth captioned the image with enthusiasm, encouraging the citizens of Delhi to cast their votes. He wrote, “Came to my hometown, Delhi, to celebrate the world’s largest democracy by voting, Delhi, go out ‘Vote’ #DelhiVoteNow #VoteForIndia.”
Take a look:
Earlier in the day, in a video that surfaced on social media, Sidharth Malhotra was seen arriving at the Mumbai airport from where he was all set to take a flight to Delhi. The Yodha actor looked dapper in a white t-shirt which he layered with a blue shirt and grey pants. Sidharth was all smiles as he posed for the paparazzi and flaunted his uber-cool looks. On being asked if he was going to Delhi to cast his vote, the actor nodded positively and also showed a victory sign.
Previously, Sidharth Malhotra also featured in a video with Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor, Vikrant Massey and some other Bollywood stars in which they collectively urged everyone to cast their votes. “Jaago desh ke jantaa jaago (Wake up people of the country),” Sidharth said in the video which ended with him holding a sign that read, “#VoteWhereIt Matters.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sidharth Malhotra was last seen in Yodha. The film also starred Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani in key roles and performed decent at the box office. Next, rumours are rife that Sidharth will soon be sharing the screen space with his wife Kiara Advani for a romantic comedy. It will mark their first movie together since their wedding in February 2023. Recently, Sidharth was speaking to ETimes when he shared an exciting update on the film and said, “Oh yeah, that’s very much on the table. We can’t say for sure, but we were very interested in working together and finding the correct script combination, where both of us justify our roles. Also, the audience gets to see us after Shershaah, which we got a lot of love for. It is about getting the correct elements in place.”
Reportedly, the romantic comedy will be produced by Sidharth and Kiara’s close friend, filmmaker Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions. However, there is no official confirmation to this as of now.
