Varun Dhawan recently made a cameo in Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2. He featured as his character in Amar Kaushik’s film, Bhediya, and saved Shraddha in a crucial scene in the film. In a recent chat, Shraddha recalled how she had once proposed to Varun when they were younger but he rejected her proposal.
Shraddha told Shubankar Mishra, “Bohot purani kahani hai. Logo ko pata hai yeh. Varun ne mera proposal reject kiya tha. It is very funny. Hum humare dads ke shoot pe gaye the. Mujhe bachpan me Varun pe chhota sa crush tha. Hum mountain top pe gaye, waha pe khelte khelte gaye. Maine bola, ‘Main ek baat bolungi Varun, main ulta bolungi to aap uska meaning samajh jaana.’ Maine bola, ‘You love I.’ Usne bola, ‘Mujhe ladkiyan pasand nahi hain.’ Aur wo bhaag ke chala gaya fir (It’s an old story that a lot of people already know about. Varun rejected my proposal. It’s funny to think about. We had joined our dad during one of their shoots. As a kid, I had a small crush on Varun. While we were playing, we reached the top of a mountain. I said, ‘Varun, I will say something in a reverse way and you’ll have to figure it out.’ So I said, ‘You love I.’ He replied, ‘I don’t like girls.’ Then he ran away).”
Varun Dhawan’s cameo in Stree 2 has opened avenues for Amar Kaushik’s horror comedies to combine in a ‘multiverse’. Fans are excited to watch Varun and Shraddha on-screen after ABCD and ABCD 2.
Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, is making waves at the box office with a phenomenal start. The film raked in an impressive Rs 60.3 crore net in India on its first day, with its gross collection standing at around Rs 76.5 crore. On its second day, the film added another Rs 30 crore to its net total, bringing the cumulative net collection to Rs 90.3 crore. This solid performance has propelled Stree 2’s gross earnings past the Rs 100 crore mark, a significant achievement for a film of its genre.
