Samantha Ruth Prabhu made headlines recently after a minister in Telangana made shocking claims about her divorce with Naga Chaitanya. While the former couple issued statements shutting down the claims, Naga Chaitanya was slammed by social media users for referring to her as ‘former spouse’ instead of using Samantha’s name in his statement. While neither of the stars have reacted to the uproar, Samantha’s recent Instagram Stories posting has grabbed eyeballs.

Samantha’s new post comes just a few days after Telangana minister Konda Surekha claimed that KTR was the reason behind her and Naga Chaitanya’s split.
Konda Surekha’s Shocking Claims
Konda Surekha claimed that KT Rama Rao demanded that Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to Surekha, when Samantha refused, it led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya. “KTR asked to send Samantha in return for not demolishing the N-convention centre. Nagarjuna forced Samantha to go to KTR, but she said no. That led to divorce,” Surekha was quoted as saying by Deccan Herald.

Earlier, responding to the claim, Samantha took to Instagram to issue a strongly-worded statement. “To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love & to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight… It takes a lot of courage and strength,” she wrote.
Directly addressing Surekha, Samantha added, “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey turned me into—please don’t trivialise it. I hope you realise that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy.”
Naga Chaitanya’s Reaction
Naga Chaitanya addressed K Surekha’s claims in a statement on social media and said, “The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways.”
He continued, “It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults.” Chaitanya said that the rumours and gossip surrounding their divorce were baseless and out of line. “There have been various baseless and completely ridiculous gossips on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family.”
Meanwhile, Nagarjuna confirmed he is taking a legal action against K Surekha’s claims. Speaking to Times Now, Nagarjuna said, “We filed a criminal defamation case yesterday. We are in the process of filing another Rs 100-crore defamation lawsuit against her. Her outrageous comments cannot be allowed to slide under the crack. She now says she is withdrawing her remarks. She has apparently apologised to Samantha. What about my family? Not a word of apology to me and to my family!”
