Raveena Tandon is currently making headlines for her role as Indrani Kothari in the web series Karmma Calling. Raveena plays an actress turned socialite in the show, who runs the elite social circle in Alibaug. Raveena’s character was a popular actress in the 1990s, just like Raveena herself. The actress recently spoke about her filmography and revealed that she had to reject four films with Shah Rukh Khan.
Raveena Tandon told Mirchi Plus that she and Shah Rukh Khan had once agreed to do four films together. However, none of them could happen due to various reasons. She said that the first movie was shelved due to the director’s demise. As for the second film, Raveena said that she wasn’t happy with the costumes.
Speaking about the third and fourth films, Raveena said, “We did Zamana Deewana, but that also got delayed. Darr was something that I was offered, but I stepped back.” During the interview, Raveena described Shah Rukh as a “genuinely warm, caring person”.
Earlier, Raveena had told ANI why she didn’t agree to do Juhi Chawla’s role in Darr. “Darr had come to me first, though it was not vulgar, but earlier there were some scenes in Darr, I was not comfortable with,” she said.
Raveena recently revealed that she had also rejected Karmma Calling 10 years ago. “This show was literally planned ten years ago when Ruchi ji came to my office and we had talked about this show, it was for Star and she needed a lot of dates. “At that time, my son, Ranbir was barely three-four months old so I had said no to her. So, it was karma that we all are here with the show ten years later,” she said.
Karmma Calling is adapted and directed by Ruchi Narain of Guilty fame, for Disney+ Hotstar.
