Ranvir Shorey is a man of many talents. The actor started his professional journey as a radio jockey. He made his foray into the world of glitz and glam with director Shashilal K Nair’s Ek Chhotisi Love Story. Featured opposite Manisha Koirala, Ranvir caught the eye of the audience and critics with his performance in the romance drama. He went on to star in several small yet crucial roles in films like Jism and Lakshya.

Ranvir Shorey participated in the reality television show Bigg Boss OTT 3 this year. Hosted by Anil Kapoor, the programme premiered on June 21 on Colors TV and JioCinema Premium. The show drew its curtains on August 2, with actress Sana Makbul winning the competition.
However, throughout his tenure in the Bigg Boss house, Ranvir showed immense patience and confidence by completing challenging tasks, dealing with his co-contestants, and navigating tough situations. He emerged as the second runner-up.
During a media press conference, Ranvir Shorey revealed that he decided to participate in Bigg Boss to pay his son’s college fees. The actor was married to actress, and filmmaker Konkona Sen Sharma and they share a son Haroon.
Clarifying one of his past jokes about wanting to earn Rs 25 lakh prize in Bigg Boss, Ranvir revealed, “It is not like that. The statement was made in jest. Obviously, the combination of the trophy and prize money cannot be broken. At least I am clear when I say that I want myself to win first.”
Recalling his journey in Bigg Boss, Ranvir Shorey in an interview with ANI admitted that he shared close bonds with some housemates, but with others there were conflicts. Despite the “tough experience”, he was happy to have “learned a lot, gained experience, and created lasting memories.”

Ranvir Shorey was recently seen in director Srijit Mukherji’s web series Shekhar Home. Headlined by Kay Kay Menon, the JioCinema Premium mini-series is touted to be the Indian adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, the iconic fictional detective created by novelist Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
While Kay Kay Menon portray the titular character of Holmes, Ranvir fill the shoes of Doctor John Watson, a close and witty assistant-cum-friend of Sherlock. Shekhar Home premiered on August 14. It also stars Madhvendra Jha, Usha Uthup, Rasika Dugal, and Kaushik Sen.
