Prakash Raj To Play The Antagonist In Thalapathy Vijay’s Next? What We Know

Thalapathy Vijay is all set to bid farewell to acting with his last project in the pipeline tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, which will be directed by H Vinoth. This film is expected to be released worldwide at cinemas in October 2025. According to reports, there is an interesting update regarding the developments in the movie. Reports indicate that actor Prakash Raj will play the antagonist in this project. To date, there are no official confirmations regarding this update. Thalapathy Vijay and Prakash Raj have teamed up on many hit films like Gilli (2004), Sivakasi (2005), Pokkiri (2007) and Villu (2009). Thalapathy 69 will also reportedly involve Simran, Pooja Hegde, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Mohanlal, and Mamitha Baiju. As per the reports, Bobby Deol might also be the antagonist in this film.

KVN Productions has produced Thalapathy 69 which will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The production house recently unveiled the film’s poster and announced its details with the tagline, “Torch Bearer of Democracy.” They wrote in the caption, “We are beyond proud & excited to announce that our first Tamil film is #Thalapathy69, directed by the visionary #HVinoth, with music by the sensational Rockstar @anirudhofficial. Super happy to collaborate with the one and only Thalapathy Vijay. The torch bearer of Democracy is arriving in Oct 2025.”

Reports indicate that Thalapathy Vijay has become the highest-paid Indian actor with the fee he will be raking in for his last film. The reports mention that he will get Rs 275 crore for Thalapathy 69.

As per the reports, Thalapathy 69’s pre-production is underway.

Post Thalapathy 69, Vijay will only concentrate on his political career with his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. The reports mention that he has asked his party cadre to take a Left-of-Centre stance and respect BR Ambedkar, Periyar and K Kamaraj. K Kamaraj was the chief minister of Madras State. The reports mention the GOAT actor wants to present these leaders as the party’s primary sources of ideological inspiration. As per report, Thalapathy Vijay is currently reading the book Ambedkar Indrum Endrum (Ambedkar Today and Forever).
