And on Thursday, she shared a video singing her nana’s favourite song, “Aaj Jane Ki Zid Na Karo,” during the live performance. However, the heartfelt tribute took an unexpected turn as the actress found herself at the center of online criticism and trolling.

Parineeti took to the stage to perform the classic track. The emotional rendition was met with mixed reactions from the audience, with some expressing admiration for the actress’s heartfelt gesture, while others resorted to trolling and negative comments. Taking to her official Instagram handle, Parineeti Chopra wrote, “Andddd it’s done….I have tears of joy as I type this: MY FIRST EVER LIVE SINGING PERFORMANCE was last night and it was everythinggg I could wish for and more. Thank you all for the love and kindness you all have shown. It means a lot to me.” In the photos, we can see Parineeti Chopra wearing an all black ensemble and performing. She also shared a video along with photos.

Talking to Pinkvilla, Parineeti Chopra said, “He was like, ‘Oh my God. This is something you should have done like 10 years ago.’ He was just so encouraging of it. With your partner, you have so many discussions about your insecurities, but personally I am not that person. I am not insecure at all. So I will never go up to him and say, ‘Listen, I’m really stressed, and I don’t know what to do.’ I am a very positive person. So the moment I told him about this he was like ‘Just go for it’.”

Meanwhile, on the film front, she will soon be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila, alongside Diljit Dosanjh.
