Deepika Padukone made her acting debut in 2006 with the Kannada-language romantic drama Aishwarya. Directed by Indrajit Lankesh, the film featured Upendra, Daisy Bopanna, and Deepika Padukone. An official remake of the 2002 film Manmadhudu, with elements inspired by Ghajini (2005), Aishwarya showcased Upendra as a wealthy advertising executive, transforming his mass image into a more sophisticated one.
The movie turned out to be a massive success, grossing a total of Rs 5 crore during its 100-day run and securing a position among the top 5 hit films of 2006.
Deepika Padukone ventured into Bollywood the following year with Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan. Since then, she has been an unstoppable force in the industry, delivering hits like Chandni Chowk to China, Karthik Calling Karthik, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, and Bajirao Mastaani among others.
In her latest project, Jawan, directed by Atlee, Deepika Padukone gave an extended cameo alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra.
Looking ahead, Deepika Padukone is set to appear in Hrithik Roshan-starrer Fighter. She will also be seen in Kalki 2898 AD alongside Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Deepika Padukone is happily married to Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, with the couple tying the knot in 2018. Recently, in an interview, she expressed her desire to embrace motherhood.
