Nargis Fakhri made her debut with Ranbir Kapoor in the film Rockstar. Their onscreen chemistry was loved by fans. Well, recently, she was praising Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in his latest movie Animal. Fakhri even showered praise on Sandeep Reddy Vanga and expressed her desire to work with him.
Talking to Filmfare, Nargis also mentioned the directors she wants to work in the future. “I love how the character was sketched for Ranbir Kapoor in Animal. The way he explored alpha energy was truly impressive! And look at how well he drafted characters for even the females in his film. Even though they weren’t the ‘leads’, they had the juiciest parts too,” she shared, further expressing interest in working with Rajkumar Hirani. “I feel his films are like a breath of fresh air that’s loaded with light-hearted moments. Lastly, I’d also like to work with Kabir Khan, and his high-octane action films like Ek Tha Tiger. I admire his passion for storytelling.”
Coming to Animal, the film also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri and Bobby Deol. Released on December 1, 2023, Animal revolved around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film showed Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, including gun down 200 people with machine gun. However, despite his efforts, he struggled to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father
While Animal was a box office success which earned over Rs 900 crore worldwide, it was also questioned by many for being ‘misogynistic’. The film sparked a debate on social media, with many slamming the director for his portrayal of Vijay.
Director have already announced the sequel Animal Park. “This is going to be bigger and wilder than Animal,” Vanga said as quoted by E-Times and then added, “The shooting of the film will begin by 2026.”
