'Lal Salaam' Actress Dhanya Balakrishna Faces Massive Backlash As Old Post Mocking Tamilians Go Viral
Dhanya Balakrishna was supporting Royal Challengers Bangalore during the IPL 2012 when she made a derogatory remark against people in Chennai.

Actress Dhanya Balakrishna is reportedly all set to make her comeback on the big screen with the movie ‘Lal Salaam’. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the film will hit theatres on February 9. However, days ahead of the film’s release, an old statement of Dhanya Balakrishna has resurfaced on social media which has left netizens disappointed.

As reported by E-Times, Dhanya Balakrishna was supporting Royal Challengers Bangalore during the IPL 2012. However, when Chennai Super Kings won the cup, she wrote, “Dear Chennai, you beg for water we give! You beg for electricity, we give! ur people come and occupy our beautiful city and kocha paduthify it, we allow and if you are at our mercy to go to playoffs, we let be!! Like this you begging we giving!”

While Dhanya Balakrishna had also apologised for her post back in 2012 just two days after posing it, netizens are now again demanding an apology from her. Reacting to her viral post, one of the users wrote, “How did you get the idea to act in a Tamil movie?” Check out some of the reactions here:

Lal Salaam is a sports drama featuring Vishnu and Vikranth in lead roles, with Rajinikanth making an extended cameo appearance. Recently, the audio launch event of the film was held in Chennai which was also attended by Dhanya Balakrishna. During the event, Aishwarya emphasized the sensitive nature of the film’s subject and acknowledged that only a person with deep humanity, like her father, would agree to be part of such a project. The film, produced by Lyca Productions, is set to hit theatres on February 9.
