Kelly Clarkson Used Ozempic To Shed 20 Kgs? Singer BREAKS Silence On Drastic Transformation
Kelly Clarkson admitted to using weight loss drugs for her major transformation.

Kelly Clarkson left fans shocked last year after her major transformation. The singer lost nearly 41 pounds in 2023, leaving fans wondering about the secret behind this weight loss. Recently, she confirmed on her show that she took some weight loss drugs to aid her transformation, as prescribed by her doctor. She said that while many think that she took Ozempic, she instead used a medicine that helped her body process sugar effectively.

Kelly said on The Kelly Clarkson Show, “My doctor chased me for two years, and I was like, ‘No, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems. Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, but it’s not. It’s something else… I don’t take Ozempic.”

Kelly made this revelation in the latest episode of her show, guest-starring Whoopi Goldberg. She said, “Every time I run into you, you look younger! You’re like Benjamin Button. It’s like crazy every time you walk in!” Whoopi then mentioned her weight loss journey to Kelly and said, “I am doing that wonderful shot that works for folks who need some help, and it’s been really good for me.”

Whoopi said that she nearly “has lost two people”. Whoopi bringing up her weight loss journey prompted Kelly to speak about her own transformation and the doctor-prescribed drugs she used to shed excess weight.

Kelly mentioned that she used a medication to help her body process sugar more effectively. This works differently from Ozempic, which regulates hunger hormones in the brain and is usually given to type 2 diabetes patients.

Although Ozempic is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it has come under scrutiny for the side effects it can cause, especially when taken without a prescription. Common adverse reactions to this medicine include gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and in some cases, extreme loss of appetite, fatigue and weakness. This drug should never be taken by someone with a history of thyroid cancer or a family history of any such disease.

Kelly also addressed her transformation earlier this year and assured fans that she has a proper diet. She told People Magazine, “I eat a healthy mix. I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — for a couple of years I didn’t. And 90 per cent of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!”
