Karan Johar recently announced a new series titled Love Storiyaan. The filmmaker took to his Instagram and revealed that he has put together a series of real-life love stories, much like the Modern Love series, for the special occasion of Valentine’s Day. The series features a six-part heartwarming revisiting of real-life love stories, conceptualised by Somen Mishra. The series puts under spotlight six real-life couples from across the country and their stories of love, hope, happiness and triumph over all adversities. Now it has been revealed that the sixth episode of the series has been banned in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Indonesia and Egypt.
The sixth episode of the Karan Johar-backed series Love Storiyaan, titled Love Beyond Labels, has been banned in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Indonesia and Egypt. The episode features Tista and Dipan, a transgender couple from Kolkata, and narrates their love story, which began during their gender transition surgeries. As per reports, the ban in Middle Eastern countries can be attributed to the “limited or highly restrictive rights” for LGBTQAI+ individuals.
About the series, Karan Johar, whose Dharmatic Entertainment, has produced it, said, “Love Storiyaan for us, is more than just a faithful retelling of real-life love stories. The series looks at love in all its forms, painting a beautiful picture of connections that go beyond the ordinary.”
The stories have been captured through the lens of six directors – Akshay Indikar, Archana Phadke, Collin D’Cunha, Hardik Mehta, Shazia Iqbal, and Vivek Soni. A Dharmatic Entertainment Production, with Karan Johar,
