Kangana Ranaut says Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Aamir Khan’s “talented sides” have not been explored fully as of now. On Wednesday, the actress was speaking at the trailer launch of her upcoming movie Emergency when she was asked if she would ever want to produce or direct the three Khans in a single movie. Kangana mentioned that she would love to do it and added that the entire film industry is “eternally grateful” to SRK, Salman and Aamir for making India proud at the global level.
“I would love to produce or direct a film on all three Khans. I would also love to show their talented sides, where they can act, look good and do something which is very significant to society. I would love to make a film like that. I feel they are very talented. They are adding a lot of reputation to the industry and we should be eternally grateful to them. They are engaging with the masses. There is also a very artistic side to all three of them, which has not been explored yet, other than in a few films. I would love to explore that,” she said.
Kangana also recalled Irrfan Khan and shared that she would always regret not working with him. “One actor I would always regret not being able to direct is Irfan Khan Sahab – he was one of my favourite Khans and I will always miss him,” she added.
Talking about Emergency, Kangana announced the film in 2021 but later clarified that even though it is a political drama, it is not Indira Gandhi’s biopic. The actress is not just playing the lead in the film but is also directing it.
Besides Kangana, Emergency also stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry and Shreyas Talpade among others. While Shreyas Talpade will be seen playing the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Anupam Kher will be seen as Jayaprakash Narayan. Late actor Satish Kaushik will also be seen as Former Deputy Prime Minister of India, Jagjivan Ram.
Emergency has been postponed multiple times and is now scheduled to hit theatres on September 6, 2024.
