Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 3: Kalki 2898 AD is unstoppable at the box office. The Nag Ashwin directorial, which stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in the lead, has collected over Rs 200 crore at just the Indian box office and the film is expected to do phenomenal business on Sunday as well.

According to Sacnilk.com, at the time of reporting, Kalki 2898 AD collected Rs 67.1 Cr India net across languages on Saturday, Day 3. With this, Kalki 2898 AD has collected Rs 220 Cr (approx) in India in just three days. The highest contribution has been from the Telugu screenings (Rs 126.9 Cr), followed by Hindi (Rs 72.5 Cr) and Tamil (Rs 12.8 Cr). Kalki 2898 AD is said to have collected over Rs 100 crore (gross) on just the third day at the box office.

Kalki 2898 AD created history at the box office by becoming the third biggest opener in Indian cinema as it earned massive Rs 191 crore globally on its opening day. With this huge day 1 collection, Kalki 2898 AD has surpassed the global opening records of KGF 2 (Rs 159 crore), Salaar (Rs 158 crore), Leo (Rs 142.75 crore), Sahoo (Rs 130 crore) and Jawan (Rs 129 crore). RRR still remains the highest Indian opener with Rs 223 crore collections, followed by Baahubali 2 which grossed over Rs 217 crore on its opening day.

The Telugu film, which has been released in four other languages, heavily draws inspiration from Mahabharat. The film is set in a dystopian future and revolves around four people — a pregnant woman named Sumathi (Deepika Padukone), who is said to be carrying a child that is the 10th avatar of Vishnu; the immortal Ashwatthama (played by Amitabh Bachchan) who has been tasked to protect the unborn child; a ruthless villain named Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan), who wants the child dead for he knows the child will be the end of the baddie; and Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter who would sell anyone in return of money.

The film is being loved by all. News18 Showsha rated the film 4/5 and was all praise for Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas’ performances in the film.
