Jenna Ortega Addresses 'Crazy’ Rumours About Dating Johnny Depp: ‘Pretty Hilarious’

The speculation began after Deux Moi shared an Instagram Stories (now deleted) suggesting that Johnny and Jenna were spotted on a date. Jenna, the star of Wednesday, was quick to dismiss the claim, and representatives for the Pirates of the Caribbean actor also denied the rumour. Recently, while promoting her new film Beetlejuice, Jenna appeared on Buzzfeed Celeb and opened up about how the rumour affected her, revealing that even Richie E. Grant was among those who believed the false story.

During the interview, Jenna was surrounded by adorable puppies and spoke about the craziest rumour she had heard about herself. The actress said, “Probably that I was in a serious relationship with Johnny Depp and I wanted everybody to leave us alone. It’s so insane to me like I never spoke on that, I never said anything like that, articles really do just make up their own quotes but I thought that was pretty hilarious. I was on set with Richie E Grant and he came up to me and he just said, ‘Oh, so you and Johnny,’ and I laughed because I don’t know that person."

When the baseless rumours first started getting attention, Jenna Ortega quickly decided to put them to rest. The actress described the gossip as ridiculous and highlighted that she had never met or worked with Johnny Depp. She urged people to stop spreading false information and leave both of them alone.

As per the portal, Johnny’s representative stated, “Mr Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms Ortega whatsoever. He has never met her or spoken to her. He is not involved in any project with her, nor does he intend to be. He is appalled by these baseless and malicious rumours that are intended to harm his reputation and career."
