Indian 2: Kamal Haasan's Film To FInally Release On THIS Date; Makers Share New Poster, See Here

Kamal Haasan is among the biggest stars in the South film industry. He has been a part of some of the biggest films and enjoys a massive fan following. The actor is all set to star in the highly anticipated film, Indian 2. The film has been directed by popular Tamil filmmaker S Shankar and is the sequel to their superhit film, Indian, which was released in 1996. There has been a lot of hype regarding the release of the film, and the fans are eagerly awaiting to watch it in theatres. Amid all the buzz, Kamal Haasan has finally revealed the release date with a new poster.

In the latest poster, the vigilante Senapathy (portrayed by Kamal Haasan) is depicted with his signature twisted finger, his hands bound in handcuffs. The creators of the poster have highlighted Senapathy’s relentless battle against corruption and injustice, emphasizing his policy of ‘zero tolerance’. Kamal Haasan shared the same with the caption, “Gear up for the comeback of Senapathy!INDIAN-2 is all set to storm in cinemas this JUNE. Mark your calendar for the epic saga! #Indian2 .”

Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2 has been creating buzz since it was announced, back in 2018. The filming started in 2019. Due to various reasons, including overshooting of budget as well as an unfortunate accident on set that resulted in the death of a crew member, the film was put on hold for years. Further, the Covid-19 pandemic caused an additional delay in the project. Later, the shooting was also postponed due to a clash of opinions between Lyca Productions and film’s director S Shankar. After a long wait and settling all the issues, Indian 2’s filming has finally come to an end reportedly.

In an interview with The Hindu, Kamal Haasan, who was last seen in the 2022 movie Vikram, said that he has completed shooting for Indian 2 and Indian 3.

He said, “I can’t make up for the lost time. Also, we cannot speed up production as the quantity doesn’t matter, quality does. We have completed Indian 2 and Indian 3. The post-production work of Indian 2 is currently happening. We will start work on Indian 3 post-production after we finish it.”

Indian 2 stars a huge cast including Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rahul Preet Singh, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. Reportedly, Shankar has also brought to life on-screen departed actors Vivek and Nedumudi Venu through CGI and body doubles.
