Durgesh Kumar is now considered one of the finest actors in the industry and the country, thanks to his very relatable and realistic portrayal of Bhushan in Panchayat. A video was shared on the Instagram account called @bollywood_thikana, which shows the actor in an old interview, conversing about his earlier work. Durgesh revealed that he worked in a film titled Behen Hogi Teri, which ended up becoming a huge box-office bomb, despite being led by big industry names. It performed so badly that the producers went bankrupt.

According to the actor, he was to receive Rs 12,000 for his role in the film. However, since it turned out to be a big failure, the producer called him and requested not to cash the said amount through the given cheque, indicating how badly the company needed money. Speaking further, he added that this is the kind of stuff he has faced in the industry that he loves so much. People like him were inspired by cinema juggernauts like Amitabh Bachchan, to venture into films. He advised the young starlets, “I want to tell new artists that it is not that easy to work. Withdrawing money is not so easy.” The Rs 12,000 cheque is still kept at his house, added the actor.

Behen Hogi Teri was made under the direction of Ajay K Pannalal, who was also the writer. It included Rajkummar Rao and Shruti Haasan as the leads. They were supported by names like Gautam Gulati, Herry Tangri, Darshan Jariwala and Natasha Rastogi, among many others. Durgesh Kumar was seen in the role of an inspector in the release. It was produced by Tonny D’souza, Amul Vikas Mohan and Nitin Upadhyaya under the banner of OddBall Motion Pictures.
