Dil Raju’s tenure as the president of the Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce is coming to an end. In order to elect the new leader of the chamber an election was held recently. Famous film distributor Bharat Bhushan and well-known film producer Tagore Madhu contested the election to become the upcoming president of the chamber. Bharat Bhushan reportedly won the election with a massive margin. As per media reports, Tagore Madhu received just 17 votes while Bharat Bhushan received 29 votes. For the position of Vice-president, well-known producer Ashok Kumar and famous director YVS Chowdary contested the election. Ashok Kumar reportedly received 28 votes, while YVS Chowdary received 18 votes. A total of 46 out of 48 members voted in the election. Members of the Producers, Exhibitors, Distributors, and Studio sectors of the Tamil film industry voted to choose the president and the vice-president of the chamber. For the past five years, Dil Raju served as the president of the Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce.
According to media reports, Dil Raju, the outgoing president of the chamber wanted to name someone of his likes as the president. Initially, he first suggested the name of producer Abhishek Nama. Prasanna Kumar, Producer Kalyan C and other members who belonged to the opposition camp of Dil Raju opposed the decision to name Abhishek Nama as the president. They argued that film personalities from the state of Andhra Pradesh should also get the opportunity to serve the chamber. They further pointed out that three consecutive presidents belonged from the state of Telangana. Following the debate, Bharat Bhushan from Uttarandhra, Andhra Pradesh was announced as one candidate.
Dil Raju announced the name of Tagore Madhu against the senior film distributor. The fight was intense between the two candidates as Bharat Bhushan emerged as the winner. The Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce is mainly responsible for overseeing every minute things of the Telugu film industry. The chamber is also responsible to address the grievances of the people working in the industry.
