The shooting of director Sujil Mangad’s untitled project kickstarted on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Kadambery in Kannur, Kerala. The movie will see a group of newcomers, set in the backdrop of North Malabar. Sujil Mangad is a prominent face in the theatrical realm who has been active in the art scene of Malabar.
Before the shoot kicked off, the makers organised a simple pooja ceremony. The auspicious event was graced by the Municipal Chairman of Andalurkavu, P. Mukundan. He lit the bhadradeepam, a lamp with five wicks. After the ceremony, the scriptwriter of the movie, Vijesh Vishwam gave the first clap at the event.
The movie is focused on a group of ordinary people in the country and is touted to have small humorous and heart-touching moments that will connect the audience with them at an emotional level. The movie will present the story in the most realistic manner possible. In the film, Lukman Avaran and Tanvi Ram will pair as the leads. Apart from them, around 90 actors and actresses who have long been a part of Malabar theatricals and other art forms will be featured in the movie. It has further piqued the audience’s interest, who now eagerly anticipate the release.
Sujil Mangad also shared a poster on Instagram. The brightly coloured poster reads, “Pooja Hi-Tech Presents, Production 01. Direction: Sujil Mangad. Written: Vijesh Vishwam. You are invited.” The date 03-01-2024 is written on it. The caption read, “Friends, the past few years have been a struggle. It is good that those who have been with us through thick and thin are still here. Look how 2023 ended.” He used the words film, friends, love and life as hashtags.
