No jinx here as South Africa lift Rugby World Cup
South Africa, winners of the 1995 edition, beat the defending champions.

New Delhi: South Africa have emerged victorious at the 2007 Rugby World Cup that concluded in Paris on Saturday as they beat defending champions England 15-6.

Watched on by Prince William, South Africa, winners of the 1995 edition, ended England's reign as world champions to lift the World Cup for the second time.

South Africa had beaten England in the group stages and continued that in the final too. By break time South Africa were up 9-3.

England went desperately close to a try through Mark Cueto soon after half-time, before a penalty apiece made it 12-6.

Francois Steyn extended the lead for the Springboks with a long-range penalty and South Africa held out to a repeat of the 1995 win.
