New Delhi: The Censor Board is in the middle of a brand new controversy. Just two weeks after it came out with a list of words that were to be banned from usage in films, news has it that the board had asked the makers of the recently released 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' to mute the word 'lesbian.'

The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer film, which released last Friday in theaters marks the debut of actress Bhumi Pednekar and has been produced by Yash Raj Films. The scene in question takes place when Bhumi's character Sandhya is being consoled by a lawyer at court.

CBFC member Ashoke Pandit, on learning about it, expressed dismay over the incident- calling the censorsing unfortunate. Pandit tweeted, "Came to know through news papers & If it's true then muting"Lesbian"in a film is shameful.I condemn it.#freedomofexpression(sic)"

Pandit had earlier also expressed his disappointment at the boards list of banned words which was later withheld as it did not have the consensus of all members.
