The upcoming Malayalam thriller film Hunt has been making headlines for a long time. The much-awaited film stars Bhavana in the lead role. The film will now hit the theatres on August 23, the makers announced on Sunday. Earlier, the film was scheduled to hit the theatres on August 9, which was delayed for a long time. It is directed by film veteran Shaji Kailas and written by Nikhil Anand, who also wrote Matchbox (2017) starring Roshan Mathew. Hunt is a horror thriller set in a medical backdrop and features Renji Panicker, Chandhunadh, Anu Mohan, Dain Davis, Aditi Ravi, G Suresh Kumar, Ajmal Ameer, Rahul Madhav, Binu Pappan, Nandhu and Vijayakumar. The core technical team of the film includes composer Kailas Menon, cinematographer Jackson Johnson and editor Akhil AR. It is produced by K Radhakrishnan under the banner of Jayalakshmi Films.
The film reunites Bhavana and Shaji Kailas after 2006’s Chinthamani Kolacase, which starred Suresh Gopi as the main lead. Apart from Bhavana, the cast of Hunt also includes Renji Panicker, Chandhunadh, Anu Mohan, Dain Davis, Aditi Ravi, G Suresh Kumar, Ajmal Ameer, Rahul Madhav, Binu Pappan, Nandhu and Vijayakumar in other pivotal roles.
The trailer was released on July 14 and has till now garnered 73,000 views on YouTube. One of the users wrote, “Waiting.” Another one commented, “Best wishes, Queen.” “Nice teaser,” added the third user. Many dropped heart emojis are in the comment box.
Earlier, the makers released a teaser, which also received immense appreciation from the viewers. The film will provide audiences with a spine-tingling experience. The teaser has been released by the official account of Friday Matinee on Twitter.
A few months ago, Shaji Kailas chose to make the filming memorable by planning a success party for his movie. On social media, a photo of the Hunt cast and crew celebrating their accomplishment went viral. At the event, actors Bhavana Menon, Athi Ravi, Rahul Madhav, Vinu Mohan, Ajmal Amir and Chanthu Nath, as well as Hunt’s producer K Radhakrishnan, were present.
