Bigg Boss OTT 3 continues to generate headlines, not just for its dramatic twists and turns, but also for controversy involving contestant Armaan Malik. Known for his marriages to both Payal Malik and Kritika Malik, Armaan Malik has been receiving a huge backlash on social media for his alleged intimate video with his second wife from the show. However, streaming platform JioCinema has now issued a statement and confirmed that the footage is fake and has been doctored.
The statement read, “JioCinema adheres to strict programming standards and guidelines to ensure quality and appropriateness of any content that streams on our platform. Bigg Boss OTT which was streamed on JioCinema did not have any such content. The video clip in circulation is doctored to include obscenity and is fake. We are committed to protecting the integrity of JioCinema and the trust our viewers place in us. The creation and circulation of this fake clip is a matter of very serious concern.”
“Our teams are working towards identifying the origins of this clip and will initiate action against those responsible for creating and distributing such defamatory content against Bigg Boss OTT and JioCinema,” the statement also mentioned.
The controversy intensified following a recent episode where a private moment between Armaan Malik and his second wife, Kritika, went viral. The footage led to speculation about the couple’s intimate behaviour on live television, further fueling the outcry.
Armaan’s first wife, Payal Malik, responded to the viral video by calling it fake. “Whoever has shared the video claiming it is Armaan and Kritika’s, I request them to stop. The video is edited. I have stayed in the Bigg Boss house and can confirm that the lamps and blankets seen in the clip are different from those in the house. Anyone who has stayed there would recognize that the clip is not genuine,” she said.
In a recent interview with ANI, Shiv Sena Secretary and Spokesperson MLA Dr Manisha Kayande took a strong stance against the show. She condemned Bigg Boss OTT 3 for what she described as a display of vulgarity. “The shooting is ongoing, and what is being depicted is absolute vulgarity,” she said, referring specifically to Malik’s participation. Dr Kayande accused Malik of crossing all limits of decency, emphasizing that the content broadcast had gone beyond acceptable boundaries.
The Shiv Sena MLA also expressed concerns about the potential influence of such content on young viewers. “We have requested the Mumbai police to take action and have submitted a formal letter. This public display of vulgarity, under the guise of reality shows, raises serious questions about its appropriateness. How does it affect young minds?” she questioned.
Dr Kayande also announced plans to approach the Information and Broadcasting Minister at the central government. She called for new legislation to regulate OTT platforms and demanded accountability, including potential arrests of the actors involved and the CEO of the show.
