The makers of Antony Varghese’s upcoming film Kondal have dropped the trailer just a few days ahead of its release. The Malayalam actor is renowned for his power-packed roles and thrilling action scenes, which the audience is eagerly waiting to watch again. Directed by Ajit Mampally, Kondal is produced by Weekend Blockbusters, which had also produced RDX previously.
The recently released trailer has created a stir on social media. Apart from offering a glimpse into Kondal’s characters, the two-and-a-half-minute clip shows the actor playing a character named Manuel, who has been an alcoholic in the past. He lives on the coast, has a mysterious nature and everyone around him suspects his true motives. He is violent and is also feared by others. The film is set in a town by the sea.
As per the trailer, Manuel’s wife is afraid that he would land in trouble for always defending the community and standing up for them. A minor argument with powerful men leads to something unexpected.
According to the reports, a major part of the film has been shot on a boat, in the middle of the sea. An unexpected shark attack and Raj B Shetty’s villainous character glimpse have further left cine-goers intrigued about the upcoming film.
Kondal marks the directorial debut of Ajit Mampally. Apart from Antony Varghese, the film also stars Kannada actor Raj B Shetty, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Nandu, Manikanda Rajan, Pramod Veliyanadu, Prathibha, Gauthami Nair, Usha, Jaya Kurup, Sarath Sabha, Siraj, Rahul Rajagopal and others in key roles.
The songs are penned by Sam CS. editor is Sreejith Sarang, while Deepak D Menon has handled the camera work for the movie. The film will be released on September 13.
Antony Varghese made a significant impact with his debut role as Vincent Pepe in the 2017 hit film Angamaly Diaries, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The film’s success catapulted him to fame, earning him widespread recognition under his iconic screen name, Pepe. His portrayal of the character garnered critical acclaim and won several awards, including Filmfare Awards South.
Most recently, Antony Varghese appeared in Tinu Pappachan’s Chaaver, which was released in 2023.
