Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, also known as Pookie Baba, surprised many when he appeared on the grand premiere of Bigg Boss 18 on October 6, despite his previous criticism of the reality show. The religious leader had once stated that he would never participate in Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss, regardless of any monetary offer. His unexpected appearance led to disappointment among his followers, who felt betrayed by his decision to be associated with the show.

In response to the backlash, Aniruddhacharya Maharaj has issued a public apology to his followers, clarifying the nature of his involvement. He said that he appeared on the show as a guest, not as a contestant, and was there solely to bless the 18 participants entering the competition.

A video circulating on social media captures Aniruddhacharya Maharaj addressing the situation directly. In the video, he says, “If my entry into Bigg Boss has hurt the feelings of any Sanatani, then this son of yours, this servant, seeks your forgiveness. My intention was to promote Sanatan values, not to compete.”

He went on to explain that he had only entered Bigg Boss 18 as a guest to bless the contestants and not to engage in the competition. “I had said before that I would never participate in Bigg Boss, and I did not. I was only there as a guest, not as part of the show’s main cast.”

“Aap nishchint rahe jab tak ye saans rahegi Sanatan ki hi baat karunga (I ask for your forgiveness a million times, but know that as long as I live, I will continue to speak about Sanatan values),” he reiterated.

This isn’t Aniruddhacharya Maharaj’s first time on a TV show. He previously appeared on Laughter Chefs, where his presence was appreciated by viewers, showcasing his ability to connect with the audience in a lighter, more relaxed setting. His latest appearance, however, seems to have stirred controversy due to his prior statements against Bigg Boss.
