Actress Shanthi Priya Is All Set To Make Her Comeback In The Tamil Film Industry
Shanti Priya is said to playing the female lead in the upcoming film produced by Vetimaaran.

Actress Shanthi Priya, who has worked predominantly in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films, is currently making buzz for her comeback in the Tamil film industry. Shanti Priya is said to be playing the female lead in the upcoming film produced by Vetimaaran and directed by Varsha Bharath. The movie will revolve around the life of a woman from the age of 25 to 55.

Meanwhile, the re-entry of actress Shanthi Priya as the female lead through Vetrimaaran has raised expectations for the upcoming film.

Shanthi Priya has worked in several films, including Enga Ooru Pattukaran (1988). She also starred in the 2002 TV sci-fi epic Aryamaan—Brahmaand Ka Yodha, opposite Mukesh Khanna. Shanthipriya made her Hindi film debut with the Akshay Kumar-starrer Saugandh. She has acted with Mithun Chakraborty in movies such as Mere Sajana Saath Nibhana, Phool Aur Angaar and Meherbaan. She has also acted in Hamilton Palace along with Mahakshay Chakraborty, son of Mithun.

She made her comeback in 2022 with the Sarojini Naidu biopic. She is currently seen in the MX Player series, Dharavi Bank. It is an Indian crime drama streaming television series by director Samit Kakkad. It features Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Sonali Kulkarni and Samikssha Batnagar in the lead roles and the series also marks Suniel Shetty’s OTT debut.

Shanthi Priya left the film industry in 1994 after the Hindi film Ikke Pe Ikka. This action film was directed by Raj N. Sippy and featured Akshay Kumar, Shantipriya, Moushumi Chatterjee, Anupam Kher and Chandni in lead roles.

On the other hand, director Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai was released last year. The film featured Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon and Ilavarasu in the lead roles. The movie was backed by Elred Kumar under the banner of RS Infotainment. It is adapted from the short story Thunaivan by B. Jeyamohan. The film managed to receive positive reviews from critics and became a commercial success at the box office. A sequel titled Viduthalai Part 2 is scheduled for release this year.
