Kannada actor Jaggesh finds himself entangled in legal issues amidst the excitement surrounding his upcoming black-and-white film, Ranganayaka. Directed by Guruprasad and starring Jaggesh and Rachitha Mahalakshmi, the movie is set to hit theatres on March 8. However, Jaggesh’s recent legal woes stem from a revived controversy related to the long-standing tiger claw case, which has resurfaced due to supporters of Varthur Santhosh.
Following the arrest of former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Varthur Santhosh for possessing a tiger claw, Jaggesh made a lighthearted comment implying the incident during a media interaction. However, this remark did not sit well with supporters of Varthur Santhosh, particularly from the Vanniyakula Kshatriya community. They launched a social media attack against Jaggesh, accusing him of tarnishing their community’s image.
Allegations surfaced that Jaggesh’s past tiger claw incident was distorted in his movie’s song from Ranganayaka. Feeling aggrieved by these accusations and attacks, Jaggesh filed a complaint against Narayan Swamy, the leader of the Vanniyakula Kshatriya community and others for defaming him on social media.
In his defence, Jaggesh clarified that his statement was not directed at any specific caste or individual but was merely a humourous remark based on a public incident. He expressed no remorse for his comments made before the media. In his complaint, Jaggesh demanded appropriate action against Narayan Swamy and those associated with him, alleging that the circulated video threatened his social well-being and incited unrest.
Before the legal action, the Vanniyakula Kshatriya community had demanded an apology from Jaggesh for his comments about Varthur Santhosh. They warned of peaceful protests outside his residence if he did not issue a sincere apology. Additionally, they hinted at the possibility of staging a siege at his house.
Amidst the legal tussle, Jaggesh remains focused on the release of Ranganayaka, hoping to leave the controversy behind and garner positive attention for his upcoming film. However, the resurgence of the tiger claw case controversy has cast a shadow over the actor’s public image, prompting him to take legal recourse to protect his reputation.
