Oscars 2024: Ariana Grande's Custom Giambattista Valli Gown Deserves A Moment Of Its Own
Ariana definitely added a spoonful of drama to the red carpet of the Academy Awards 2024 and she did so decked up in the most amazing and fun ensemble

The Oscars have always been a platform for Hollywood’s brightest stars to showcase not only their acting prowess but also their fashion flair. This year, Ariana Grande stole the spotlight with her debut appearance, channelling the enchanting essence of Glinda the Good Witch from her upcoming musical fantasy film Wicked.

In a departure from the traditional black attire often seen on the Oscars red carpet, Ariana opted for a custom-made bubblegum pink gown by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the strapless silhouette and delicate ruched detailing exude elegance, while the cloud-like train adds a touch of whimsy. However, it was the voluminous cape that truly captured the imagination, enveloping Ariana in an aura of fairy-tale glamour. Her arms were cleverly concealed beneath the oversized layers, giving the illusion of a cosy giant pocket.

Styled by the renowned Mimi Cuttrell, Ariana accessorised her ethereal ensemble with exquisite pieces from Tiffany & Co., including white gold pendant earrings and a necklace adorned with striking pink stones. Pink and elegant satin shoes further enhanced her look. Her beauty look remained true to her signature style, with a sleek cat-eye, glossy pink lips, and a curled updo framing her flawless features.

This stunning Giambattista Valli creation marks just the latest in a series of good witch-inspired looks from Ariana Grande. Recently, she captivated audiences in an airy pink ribbon dress by Balenciaga, adorned with sheer layered bows that covered the entire ensemble. Against a semi-translucent base, the floor-length attire’s tone, textures, and bow-tied waistline instantly evoked Galinda’s aesthetic. Completing her ensemble, Ariana wore matching silky pumps, along with contrasting pale taupe tights and lab-grown diamond stud earrings by Smiling Rocks.

Meanwhile, Ariana’s Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the film adaptation of the Broadway hit, also embodied her character’s essence on the Oscars red carpet. She donned a mossy-green leather gown adorned with dramatic ruffles, custom-made by Louis Vuitton.

She completed her ensemble with numerous emeralds that complemented her long black, white, and green nails. Her accessories included teardrop earrings with green stripes, as well as stacked simple stud and hoop earrings.
